Automotive Solutions Cambridge - A Little History

Owner and operator, Morgan Verhoeven, completed his automotive apprenticeship in the late 1970s, and opened his first auto repair shop in 1984 called Automotive Repair Services.

When Phil Smith (Automotive Solutions Waiau Pa) approached Morgan in the late 1990s about helping to set up a national group of independent repairers, Morgan saw the potential to be part of a group that focused on running independent, professional and efficient businesses who really cared about their customers.

“It was a great opportunity for a group of people who were like-minded and passionate about the industry, and knew that as a group we could also provide a better service for the public."

Morgan changed his business' name to 'Automotive Solutions Cambridge' and started a new 4 wheel drive business 4WD Solutions and Tyre & Wheel Solutions to operate in conjunction with the automotive business. The business grew and in 2003 Morgan purpose-built, a 5 bay fully modern workshop with a showroom for the 4 wheel drive side of the business at 16 Cook Street, Cambridge.

Morgan and his wife Jayne, now both own and operate Automotive Solutions Cambridge, 4WD Solutions and Tyre & Wheel Solutions together and have 12 full-time staff members.
